If you're looking at removing water from an oil tank and you need to account for the liquid being removed, there are three options for you:
โ€‹

  1. When you take out water from an Oil tank, it will cause a drop in the tank, resulting in a negative production number, which is what you want because you need to take the water out of your oil numbers. Just have your pumper make a note in the comments field to explain the drop in the tank.

  2. Add a run ticket type and call it Water Draw or BS&W Draw (or any identifier that fits your needs). When the pumper does a draw he can create a run ticket to account for the water draw. You can learn more about creating and modifying run tickets here.

  3. Update the tank type from Oil to Oil/Water tanks. This would require the pumper to put in a Cut for the water each time he gauges the tank. You can update your tank settings by going to the Manage page of your iWell account.ย

As you can see, there are many ways to account for water draws from your tank. If you need any assistance in configuring your account, send us a quick note!
