Custom Calculations

With the latest update, iWell lets you create custom formulas that can be used in your production reports.

This new update lets you customize even more your production reports. You can use existing custom field and production data to create custom formulas in iWell. Keep in mind that custom calculations are only available on numerical custom field data.

On this guide you will learn how to:

Enabling custom calculations for existing custom fields

1. To enable custom calculations on an existing field, click on Manage, next Settings.

2. Once the Settings page, click on the Custom Fields option, located on the left side menu. There, you will see a list of available custom fields setup in your production reports. Click on the 'Edit' icon of the numerical field you wish to enable.

On the Edit Page of the custom field, turn on the 'Set a formula for this field'. This will enable the formula field.

3. Once enabled, you will be able to use the following operators:

  • Add

  • Subtract

  • Multiply

  • Divide

  • Parenthesis

  • Exponential

  • Square root

  • Custom numerical values

  • Existing custom field (current or previous)

  • Existing production data (current or previous) for oil, gas, water, gas flare, gas injection, water disposal and water injection

4. If the formula is correct, you will see a 'Passed' notification on the formula field. To finish, click 'Save'.

Enabling custom calculations for new custom fields

1. To setup custom formulas for brand new custom fields, make sure the 'Field Type' is set to a numerical type, e.g., Decimal, Integer, Currency or Percentage. Once selected, you will see the option to 'Set a formula for this field'. When ready, click 'Create'.
