With iWell Remote, you will have access to near real-time production data from the field. In this guide, you will learn how to install your iWell Remote Oil or Water Tank Monitor.
Step 1.
Screw the reducer into the tank accessory port,. If the port hole is 2", you will not need a reducer. Ensure the tank port is at least 3' from the general opening that is used to manually gauge the tank.
Step 2.
Measure the distance from the bottom of the tank to the top of the reducer. Make sure this distance is greater than the length of the cable provided. The probe, when suspended, should not rest at the bottom of the tank, nor should it be suspended in tank sludge - it should always be submerged in liquid.
Step 3.
Cut the tie wraps holding the probe cable. Unwind the cable without kinking it, and slowly lower the probe into the tank through the reducer. Be careful not to drop the probe into the tank.
Step 4.
Screw the mounting pipe into the reducer.
Step 5.
Screw the antenna into the Remote Monitoring Unit. For the easiest installation, screw the antenna in upright, and then bend it once it is fully screwed in.
Step 6.
Make sure the solar panel is facing south.
Step 7.
Connect the white plug on the end of the battery cable into the white receptor on the board next to the battery.
Step 8.
Press the wake button on the iWell Remote Monitoring Unit. The LEDs on the front of the monitor should begin to flash colors, changing from yellow to red to blue. Once a solid blue light has appeared, the remote unit has communicated successfully with the iWell servers.
Step 9.
Gauge the tank to determine the tank production level. Record the level and time of gauging, as they will be used to calibrate the unit.
Step 10.
There are two ways to calibrate your unit.
OPTION 1. Do-it-yourself (requires Internet connection).
Log into iWell Pumper online or on the app
Pull up the daily pumper report for the well that the Remote Monitor is assigned to.
Find the tank that the Remote Monitor will track.
Click on 'Calibrate'.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
OPTION 2. Contact iWell Support.
If you prefer, you can call iWell Support to help you calibrate the iWell Remote Monitoring Unit, on (800) 219-0141. Make sure you have the height from the bottom of the tank to the top of the port/reducer, the height of the liquid in the and, and the time of gauging.
Step 11.
Close the iWell Remote Monitoring Unit, making sure it latches. Install the provided anti-tampering seal.
